CTET Course Updated Details 2022 


The Central Teaching Eligibility Test (CTET) is a state-level entrance examination administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to select qualified teachers for the elementary and primary levels. It is held in July and December, 2 times a year.

The CTET form consists of two types of paper: 

Paper One and Paper Two -

1. The first paper is for candidates who wish to teach in grades one to five.

2. Whereas Paper II is for applicants who wish to teach students in grades 6 to 8.

Elementary school teacher (1st Paper)
1. The candidate must have graduated from high school (or equivalent) with a passing score of 50%.

2. Must also have completed or attended the final year of the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Applicants must have graduated from high school (or equivalent) with a passing score of 45%. 

3. He or she must have completed or attended the final year of a 2-year elementary school diploma per NCTE (Norms and Procedures for Diagnosis), Regulations, 2002. Or Candidates must pass at least 50% of the secondary score (or equivalent).

4. They must also complete or attend the final year of a 4-year undergraduate degree (B.El.Ed).

Primary School Teacher (2nd paper)
1. The candidate must have completed senior high school (or its equivalent) with at least a 50% grade point average.

2. He/she must also have completed or be in the last year of a two-year diploma in elementary education OR

3. Applicants must have a senior secondary (or equivalent) grade point average of at least 45 percent.

 4. He/she must have passed or be in the last year of a two-year elementary school diploma, according to the NCTE Regulations on Recognition Standards and Procedures, 2002.

 Or Applicants must have completed high school (or equivalent) with at least a 50% grade point average.

5. They must also pass or appear in the last year of their four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education programme (B.El.Ed).
